NuBreed

NuBreed have consistently set the pace in Oz, thanks in no small part to their shapeshifting songwriting ability. They have transformed what had traditionally been considered a club based sound into 'proper songs' and were quickly embraced by radio around the country - coupled with their awesome live ability this has established NuBreed as the leading, most progressive exponents of an influential and rapidly expanding scene.

'In one word - brilliant' - Inpress Melbourne (AUS)

NuBreed were nominated for 3 DMA's (Dance Music Awards) in 2002 for Best Debut Artist, Best Live Act and Best New Release, and nominated for Best Live Act again at last year's awards. In the UK last year they were nominated for Best New Artist at the BREAKSPOLL awards (presented by Radio One) and came 2nd in that category, and one of their live shows with Phil K recorded in Hobart was broadcast in it's entirety on Radio One by Annie Nightingale (now one of their biggest fans).

‘Absolutely awesome’ - Hybrid (UK)

Long feted by the likes of Adam Freeland, Hybrid, Sasha, BT, Way Out West & Timo Maas, NuBreed are at the centre of a strong Melbourne scene. Together they have chalked up an impressive remix CV, with international artists Tiësto & Junkie XL, Scritti Politti, Way Out West, Apex, Skunk Anansie, and most recently the Crystal Method. They were Top 5 on the national ARIA Club Chart with their remix of local BMG artist Hamish (ex Cordrazine), and the track they remixed for Tiesto & Junkie XL hit the Top 60 singles chart in the UK. This short time has also seen the release of a handful of globally acclaimed 12's, including the brilliant ‘Welcome’, ‘Food For Thought’, ‘D.Zire’, ‘Ionosphere’ & ‘Neptune Beach / Midi Killa’.

‘Groundbreaking local talent' – Sain Magazine (AUS)

On stage, NuBreed have played some of the biggest events here in Australia including the Boiler Room at Big Day Out, mainstage at Falls Festival, the Offshore Festival, Vibes On A Summer’s Day, mainstage at Two Tribes, and many more. They supported the Black Eyed Peas last year at 33 1/3, they played Sydney & Melbourne on the Gatecrasher tour supporting De La Soul, Vibes On A Summers Day with Jamiroquai, the Offshore Festival with Fatboy Slim, they co-headlined the Escape To The Powerhouse party in Singapore with Junkie XL and Slacker, they co-headlined the mainstage at last year's Two Tribes event at Rod Laver Arena with Dave Seaman, Junkie XL & Layo & Bushwacka, they warmed up for Sasha at the Adventjah festival in Brisbane, and were asked to support Groove Armada on their last national tour (but had to turn it down due to their album writing commitments). Most recently they headlined the Nokia sponsored Breaks On N-Gage national tour of Australia to help launch the new Nokia N-Gage phone. On the strength of their live performances alone, they’ve appeared on the cover of almost every major street press magazine in Australia over the last 12 months.

‘NuBreed are one of our favorite breakbeat acts, they are without a doubt one of the most inspiring acts out of Australia’ – The Crystal Method (USA)

In signing to Mob Records (UK) & Vicious (Australia & New Zealand), NuBreed are making their intentions crystal clear - and their intentions are global. Their debut album entitled ‘The Original’ was released late last year by Mob in the UK and will hit Australian & New Zealand shelves in April 2004 with special bonus tracks and a bonus mix CD from Australia’s No. 1 DJ Phil K. The album received extensive critical acclaim from UK music press with major feature articles in DJ Magazine & Mixmag, and DJ responses to the EP’s lifted from the album have been overwhelmingly positive. NuBreed have played at almost all the major festivals in Australia and supported some of the most respected acts from around the world, in addition to headlining regularly at club and dance party appearances. In 2003 they were booked to play in Singapore, New Zealand, and Kuala Lumpur, and are returning to all three countries again early in 2004.
